Hello,

I have a seiko 6138 which 12 register moves without the chrono being engaged: When I reset the chrono everything goes back to zero but when I look at it a few hours after the 12 register hand is pointing at 3 or 4 or whatever. It moves, I understand it should not moves.

Where might the problem?

Page 6 the hour recording stop lever is not stopping the hour recording wheel.
Maybe the spring is bent or eccentric pin not in the correct position.
I bet if you lightly tap the watch the wheel at 12 will move.
Not too much to remove to investigate this issue.
I agree with this assessment. The calendar side of the movement will need to be disassembled including removal of the calendar plate.
