Hi All,
Does anyone know where I might be able to get hold of a bezel tension spring for a Seiko 6105-8000 diver please?

Make one, Easy enough...
OK....what did you use...do you know the diameter of the wire.....is it something like piano wire?

Again, make your own, use 18 gauge wire but don't try and bend it into the factory "C" shape, I find the earlier types that were used with the 62mas and 5717/9's have a much better and more postive grip to the case.

Get your wire and mark it into eight equal sections

Then start bending it

Until it looks like this, you can see the advantage over the c type

Especially when comparing it on a bezel, the old c type

the new "octagonal" one

Good luck :)

Duncan,
That is perfect...thanks so much for your detailed procedure! The fact that members of this forum are so willing to share tips and information like this is what makes coming here such a pleasure!

I would advise caution with using just any old spring wire. Test some first to make sure it is stainless steel, otherwise if it is carbon steel it will easily rust over time. You can soak it in vinegar to find out (the spring stock, not the watch). If it turns to rusty mush in the vinegar, might want to not use it on a prized-possession watch.
wow..you all have the best info too..that is why i love this place
Hi,

I have a question regarding Seiko 6105-8110...does the bezel for this watch needs the tension spring? or the bezel is just friction fitted...thanks

No spring but it does have a gasket :)
Hey guys, new here.

I removed the bezel from my 6105-8009, cleaned out the schmoo, and found what appears to be 0.5mm guitar string. Upon reinstallation, it's clear that the bezel is too loose (I can just wiggle it around and I easily pop it off by hand). I attempted to make a spring using some 20ga wire (0.8mm) and it seems to thick and barely seems to fit in the groove. Higher in this discussion, 18ga wire was mentioned but I can't see how that would be possible.

Does anyone have a known good spare bezel spring that they could measure with a micrometer and confirm the thickness?
@Seabass23 I have 3 NOS Seiko bezel springs in hand. PM on the way...
