Just picked up a May ‘68 6105 8000 at an estate sale. Was wondering if the dial markings must match the caseback. My 6105-8000, though marked 6105-8000 Proof on the case back but has a 8009 resist dial, along with a later lock crown. I’ve seen plenty of 8000s and 8110s with 8009 dials posted as original by members and other experts and I was wondering why this is? I’ve found that the 8000(9) markings designate the market it is designated for, however couldn’t find much beyond that. I’ve attached a photo of the dial for reference.
