This is my first post- really enjoying the forums- Great job all!:)
Looking forward to receiving my first 6139, recently picked- up on the bay.
It's a December '70 6001, blue faced "resist", but incomplete ( looking to
lightly restore it), its missing its crown and bezel gear, and as it's coming
from Turkey- any suggestions on what sort of potential internal
damage to look for (Dust/ damp etc)?

Your biggest concern would be moisture intrusion. It will show with signs of rust on the movement. Sometimes, when the stem breaks and the crown is lost, the stem gear stays in place inside the case. The spring however, will fall out.

Thanks! I appreciate it!

If you come up short on parts let me know...........

If it is a 6139A with the exception of the chrono specific parts most 61xx parts will fit, My first was rusted the center wheel and canon pinion were fused solid, I was able to remove with great difficulty but no damage the chrono wheel and shaft, the other parts were replaced by 6119c parts.

1970 6139- 6001; first impressions

The 6139- 6001 has arrived, and at first glance, seems pretty original.
The case shows signs of light wear, but still has the brushed finish on the upper surface. The external bezel is slightly scratched and faded, but not seriously. The face is unmarked, and all the hands are correct for the model, although the internal bezel is faded (and currently in- operative).
The original "Lume" is in good order, and still takes the light, but doesn't show for long!
The crown and internal bezel gear and spring are long gone, but the watch winds, sets and keeps good time. The day/ date wheels work, although the
day wheel is slightly out of line (possibly due to the crown and gear being
'traumatically amputated'!)
There is no obvious water damage to the movement, and none of the screws show any sign of damage. The winding- weight turns freely, and does not foul anywhere. The movement seems unmarked and bright.
The crystal is badly marked and chipped, but I have replacement parts on order......
Pictures to follow, when I'm eligible (and have worked out the tech involved!).

Thanks once again to SeikoPsycho2, tritto, Grammarofdesign, and ausimax -the informed advice and help have all served to make this "Newbie" feel welcome, and raring to go on the project.
