at least the dishwasher held up through the holidays before it died.

I love owning a home, I love owning a home, I love owning a home .....

I know what you mean. Few months ago had to replace a 16 year old washer, that I had repaired twice during that time. That meant a new dryer as well because they had to match.

Also recently had a magnetron replaced in our built in microwave/convection oven. $250 to fix versus $900+ to replace was a no brainier.

Homeownership......It's always something.

Well I know the feeling
I am the one who keeps things running
Anything that breaks or stops working on my family I get the call
Sadly most newer items I see do not last like they once did
I prefer quality versus bells and whistles or fads

Yep, if one is smart you can get the job done right and save a lot of money. That is something I picked up from Dad. Wasn't much he couldn't fix. I try to be the same way.
