|downtownfish||I do like the titanium color hands and indices on the cream colored one. Other then that it seems they cheaped out again. No nice engraved case back with the peaks. Even the hodinkee one had it although they laser etched it and not stamped or engraved like the previous models.|

|JaSharp||Read somewhere that the 6r35 is thinner than the 6r15. . . Anybody have numbers on this?|

Where is the signature?
Attachment 428643 My 3 have the "Alpinist" name some where on the watch. Does the new one have it on the case back?

On the flip side it is a design element that helps signify an upmarket offering.
And the Seiko magnifier at 1.5X is not all that useful, but a Rolex @ 2.5X magnification you can read the date across the room. Maybe the design team wanted to tap into that.

I dont much care for the gynecological reference on the black-dial but otherwise I like these. The magnifier would have to go, though.

|huangcjz||At least the cyclops is a separate addition on top of a flat crystal which is easily removable using heat or a solvent such as acetone on previous Seikos with it such as the Mini Turtle and Zombie LEs. The Alpinist is actually originally targeted at older gentlemen who go hiking in Japan, though it seems to have found favour outside that audience internationally.|

Too steep price for a minor update, but everyone is learning fast from Rolex and Co. The X on thebdial is deal breaker for me, the exhibition case back as well.

Very Nice, pity they don't replace the X with Alpinist
If the price is right, I'll have a black one please.

Catalogue images of the next-generation 6R35 Alpinists, available in January 2020
Seiya has sourced catalogue images of the next-generation 6R35 Alpinists, which will be available in January 2020: https://www.seiyajapan.com/blogs/new...ck-in-jan-2020
70-hour power reserve 6R35 movement, the black-dial one's hour markers and hand-set looks more like the 1995 4S SCVF Alpinist version than the 6R15 black-dial SARB015, and still with 20 bar water resistance, even though it will now come with a display case-back. They are said to be 39.5 mm in diameter, slightly larger than the 6R15 models' 38 mm. The black-dialled one comes on a bracelet, as previous generations of Alpinist also did.
