After looking at most of these ads I can't help but think that if Seiko had spent more on creative and good writers back in the day then maybe we would be looking at a much more expensive product today.
They played to its affordability or dare I say it cheapness far too much.

Really love those ads. But I‘ll have to agree with Sir Hokuseiko right above. Beside that some of the ads do look quite a bit strange to me.

Yes, there is very little stylistic consistency across the years. I have more ads from the later 70s and into the 80s and 90s that I didn't post because they're just plain bad. Some of the ads repulse more than they attract.

The years from 1968 thru about 1972 seem to be Seiko's golden age, not only for watch design, but for graphics design as well.
