Default Citizen c040

Hopefully someone will chime in...I want to know how the seconds hand attaches to center...when I look at the center of the seconds hand it looks as though there is a tiny shaft just slightly protruding from center is that part of the seconds hand or is that the shaft that the seconds hand attaches...in other words does it attach like the hour and minute hands..slips over the shaft...hope this makes sense...

Aloha ,

If you are asking about the ... Sweep Hand on these watch's then you are
right in describing it in these .... C040 Watchs.
It would be the ... Longest in the center that drops into the movement.
It would look similar to this long one.

You just set the .....Sweep Hand ( seconds hand ) onto it a slightly press it on
with a very find tool that has a small center hole in it.
NOTE:
Be careful it breaks of very easy too.
Hope it helps you.
Louis

The reason I asking about the seconds hand on this watch is that after receiving it from Australia a few days later it started to stick stop.I know the various reasons why this may be happening..checked the hands are not touching battery change but still sticking...Now I have discovered that if I sit it on top of heating pad she ticks flawlessly. I live in montreal Canada a lot colder than where this watch may have spent a majority of its life...now its here in a much colder temperature...so oil dried up and possibly some dirt in movement...any advice is appreciated Am I on the right track....

Aloha ,

OK this is what I have encountered from those that have some of these Aqualand Watchs. It might be effecting some other Models or other watchs
also.
I helped a fellow with his C023 Aqualand and then sent it back to him.
He then emails me back and tells me the watch was not working when it arrived.
I replied back to send it back to me and when the watch arrived to me back .... In Hawaii ...
>> Note: it was working again when I opened the postal box.
Now:
We exchanged the watch about ... ( 4 - times ) and it repeated itself continually with the same symptoms.
He decided to eventually sell the watch but I did not get a response back about it.
Now:
The area I sent the watch to was on the East Coast and very cold and in the winter time also and every time the watch arrived to him it was not working.
You might need to service it eventually or check to see if the battery is loose of not working properly for it.

This watch in question can you post a picture of it if possible.

Also the picture I posted is from a Chronograph Watch but just a example to what was asked.

Well I attempted to remove the sweep seconds hand and it broke they are old watches....I have the blow up of the service manual and it seems the third wheel and pinion is for the sweep seconds hand...have 2 such watches with both the same outcome...see they have replacement third wheel and pinions on boley but I am not a watchmaker or business so they will not sell to me....so stuck with these until I find somewhere to purchase them....I appreciate your help on this if you know where I might be able to acquire would be great....
