Default 7002-700J to 7S26c advice with a snag

Hi,
I bought a 7002-700J a while back, but the movement has only worked patchily and as servicing would cost more than a new movement I decided on a swap.
Having bought a 7s26c movement, it works fits like a dream and work perfectly. The only snag I have is that with the crown / pin properly aligned the dial is not, it sits about 1 marker clockwise of centre.
I'd like to use this as a first modding oportunity so I do consider it a learning experience, but I'd like it all to line up properly (who would'nt).
Any ideas? I have thought about just a plain dial with no day/date window, but I would like to retain that if possible...
Cheers
Mark

You need to take the dial feet off and use dial dots. No other way, I am afraid.

As above as Mr.Jones says. BUT you can't use that dial as the day date will be off. You need a no day date dial.

The Sharkey 6105 has the crown at true 4 o'clock and uses a 4R35. The date wheel exists to make this happen. I don't know of pictures that would reveal the part number. The date wheel on a 4R35 should work on a 7S26C.

How confident are you that the Sharkey 6105 has crown at true 4 O,clock?
Looking at google images they look to me, to have crown just past the 4 O,clock.

The 7s26 crown was moved to 3.18 so no matter what case the movement was destined for (a 3 or 3.18 case) the day date wheels would be the same, no need for specific wheels for the crown position.= rationalization=lower production cost. I doubt thats changed over the successive calibers.

Its much easier to find a good working 7005/6/9/19 and drop it in, you'll have to change the date wheel over as all the other 70xx movements were 3.18 crowns IIRC.
Better still would be to sort out the original 7002 movement. i learned on a 7002, and i still know bugger all
