Default Citizen Hyper Aqualand NX- D716 Charging Module help.

I've got this nice Aqualand that has been laying dormant.
The watch looks good and the capacitor/ rechargeable cell looks easy enough to change.

The charging module is corroded.

It's currently with my watchmaker and he is stumped as to how to repair the module without the wiring diagram of the charging module.
He is actually happy to convert it to a usb charge if he can figure out the correct wiring, voltage and other electrical speak.

I've tried Citizen for a new charging module- no longer available.

I'm wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram, spare module or knows anyone who could shed some light on this problem.

We could, relatively easily, convert it to a standard cr2025 lithium. However I'd like to explore the recharge possibility first.
Thanks for reading.

The first thing to do, is to neutralize and clean off the crystals and crud on the board. Then you can see if tracks are damaged and test the smaller components with a meter. If you can take a picture of which leads go where, it will be easier to work out the circuit. It looks like a Linear Technology charger IC, so probably available and easily sorted. Edit - It's this chip, please look at page 12, which shows a typical circuit.

Thanks I've got it with Adrian @hal0eight the tracks are corroded but the main concern is the little diodes or what ever those black lumps are on the tracks have been destroyed and are completely missing. Hopefully Adrian finds this useful as I have no idea. Thanks.

Don't worry, it's a simple circuit and easily repairable, here's a circuit description to go with the charger on page 12. http://electronicdesign.com/boards/s...-ion-batteries

Thanks for that data sheet, that was the missing link for me fixing this thing. Despite a good effort at a search, I didn't find the darn thing.

Adrian.
