I haven't read every post in the thread but this is eerily familiar to something that Gabe got started a while back on *ahem* another forum. It was what really triggered my deep fascination with the brand. Is there a thread with members' completed project photos?

This thread has been going for some time. I will be going all the way to try to learn watch servicing, getting a bit more involved than previously covered so it could be a baptism of fire. No doubt pleas for help will be forthcoming!

The general plan is to see if I can cope with the small size and if it all goes back together I will invest in cleaning tackle. 6309...how difficult can it be?

I am in!!! O:-) Errr, am I a bit too late? :'( Better late than never .

For a very long time, since I began collecting and obsessed by this lust for watches, I wanted to be able to understand and know and fix movements and also do some basic to pro level polishings and brushings and buffing jobs etc . . .

I already ordered two non-working 6309 movements from a very valuable member of our watch lovers family. I will receive them next week, probably. And the same member mentioned, even sent the link to this section. I am grateful to you Dan! Without you I couldn't have known about this project / school. Thank you so much, brother! O:-)

On the other hand, is there such a thread / tutorial about 6306, 7S26, 7S36, and even ETA movements, please? Any info will be very valuable.

I just began reading threads and posts in this section. I am excited. I am very grateful to John and to everybody for contributing and sharing their precious treasure of knowledge. This is priceless, this is family, our family! O:-) O:-) .

Very Best Regards . . .

It's a good introduction to tinkering.

I can not believe that this was me less than 2 years ago.

How's this for being fashionably late?

I am in - and I started this project 5 years ago - even before I knew of this thread.
Somewhere around 5-6 years ago I got the watch bug again and bought 4 Seiko divers off the bay - a 6309-7040, a 6309-7049, a 7002-7009, and what I think was a 7S26 or something but it went back to the seller.
Bought all the bits, replaced the crystal and gaskets and subtly polished the better of the two 6309s and I'm wearing it right now.
The other 6309 is completely stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, case polished with a new crystal and gasket already pressed in. At that point it got put aside and other interests took over. Now I'm looking to get back to putting it back together - possibly with a different dial and hands.
Around the same time as buying all of the above I acquired my F-I-L's 6105-8119 which was in horrible shape. I found a lot of original parts, sent the dial out to be reprinted (dial house said it was perfect, I disagreed) and had the whole thing professionally assembled and movement serviced. Unfortunately I spent a lot more than I planned and they weren't as valuable as they are now so it got sold on the bay to recoup my investment. Wish I still had it but you can't keep everything!

Looks like there is one person per year saying they are in, so I will start off 2015 with I'm in.

A thread that started 7 years ago, surely there is still room for more right? Lol.

Default Been watching for a while.

Thanks, John:

I appreciate your help and interest...

Been upgrading tools for quite a while. Have gone from cigar box quality to better stuff referring back to these posts.

If Larry is in, I want to be in, as well...

Yea, I made the same mistake 5 years ago so had to teach myself, turned out OK though.
