Default 6309/7548 Bezel Insert onto a 7549-7010?

I know there's a slight difference in the outer diameter but has anyone tried fitting an OEM 6309/7548 insert onto a 7549-7010? Seems both Yobokies inserts recommended to fit but that's just confusing. How would it still fit? There's been some threads on this topic in the past but haven't seen any results yet.

Hi Moe,

Yep should be compatible, tho might need 100 microns-200 microns sanding off.

Part of the reason the 6309 insert slopes is because it fits tight in the bezel. Putting it into a smaller bezel will exacerbate this, so you'll need to take quite a bit off.
I've long speculated that the insert for the 6105-8000 has the same measurements as the 7549-7010 (I haven't removed either to measure precisely).
My guess is that you'll find a 6105-8000 insert a better fit. Does Yobokies do one?

Sounds like atleast 0.5mm off, would be a btch to get it done evenly with out any coat chipping off the top edge.

Yea not sure if it was your post but I do remember reading that bit. I don't think id even bother if my only solution was to fit a.. Costly 8000 insert.

I think Yobokies advertises the same insert for 6309/7548/7549/6105.

0.5mm reduction seems CRAZY.

Hey doesn't Yobokies make a Seiko 6105 8000/8009?
I know when I had my 6105 8000 I was able to find a aftermarket bezel insert
Just can not remember who I got it from

I wish Harold would do something about the fonts on his bezel. They're not the correct ones and once you seen it it cannot be unseen.

I file the edges off bezels to make them fit.

I use the file along the bezel rather than across it.

No one has complained especially when you tell them it's the only option

This all doesn't make sense. I have a 7549-7010 that was near mint and I fitted a 6309/7548 diver bezel from an ebay aftermarket source.
It clicked right in, no problems - I added some crystal glue to keep it perfectly put.

I did drill the pip and fit the old larger flush pip from the original ghosted bezel.

I don't know why you guys are having a different experience????

Would be great if you could post some pics. Also I think the AM inserts are slightly smaller in diameter compared to the ones on OEM 6309/7548. That's why they're not dish shaped and sit flat. The larger diameter is what allows the insert to friction fit with the bezel without the use of any adhesive.

That's my theory too - re the size and dish.
