Default Replacement Seiko LCD question

Hi all, I just swapped the LCD on my Seiko C153 calculator watch. I got a replacement LCD that came in the original unopened foil packet from a generous forum member. There's a film on it with a slight bubble in one corner. I know these have a polarizing filter, but is it possible they shipped with a protective film on them that I'm supposed to remove as well?

Wondering if anyone has seen such a thing.

Thanks!

No I don't believe they did. It is probably some peel. I'd probably leave it if its working. You can overlay a new filter if this one is failing.
Worst case you can gently peel it off and apply a new one.

On the "new" 0624 LCD screen I got some time ago was some kind of protective film. It was opaque, not clear, so easily recognizable as something I had to remove.

Finally peeled it off after buying some polarizing film stickers in eBay, and I believe it was in fact a clear protective film. The panel looks much better now :-)
