Seiko 6138-0020 Tokei Zara restoration.
6 months ago i gto the opportunity to grab that underestimated watch.
Why did i wanted this model ?Because of the dial, but obviously its Helmet case!
Watch arrived with a spare bracelet, but most of all the original one !
Take a look at the dial patina...Marvelous !!
Everything seems to be original, time to work on.
Bezel is buffed, and case refinished with a 3M abrasive. In this way i got a great satinized case and bracelet:
Dial will be untouched,so the hands:
Most of the time, pushers gaskets became hardened, and stick pushers in action,so time to change:
Set up not so bad:
6138B seems to be in great shape,in fact no oil or grease nowhere...:
The greatest difference with 6139: the additional module for 12th hours:
In the baskets :
Mainspring barrel lubricating:
Ok,timegrapher says it's good :
Feels good !!
