Default Seiko 6139-6000 Pogue from 1969

Hi,

My last personnal project.
I got the chance to find a rare Seiko 6139-6000 from 1969 (Moon landing year, exactly my grail !!).

The watch is in a poor state,a lot of work will be necessary, but worth it:

Subdial hand is not the good one, must be a tear drop instead, central chronograph hand is the infamous 2 parts, and bent (!!!).

Now it's straight good:

Dial, minute and hour hands must be relumed, all the case parts have to be cleaned too:

Eventually, the 6139A 17 Jewels version has to be completly overhauled:

And some parts replaced:

I have to check all parts, and buy a lot of new ones:

Removing the old Luminova, small scratches, and after a tiny bath:

Time to take care of the case and other items:

I use a lot of toothpicks to get rid of the rust inside the case. For rings ,i use a small solution of acid, 30%

That's not bad :

It's a long term project,i will continue to buy more parts, pics to come.

Keep up the great work. Will you be replating the markers?

You have your work cut out for you on this one. Keep going. If you have any tips for reluming one of these Pogue dials, I would love to know more about how you go about that process.
