Default Seiko 6138-0030 Kakume from November 1975

Hi,

I bought that watch a few months ago, with some chronograph issues (reset, sticky pushers...) and lot of aesthetics mistakes...

First step, dismantle everything, list all parts which have to be changed.
Balance wheel and mainspring obviously.

Lot of new parts:

Everything has to be deep cleaned:

Reassembly:

Start the work on the case and the internal bezel:

Dial is pretty good:

New original crown:

Hands were relumed,and correctly aligned:

NOS subdials hands:

New glass,AM bracelet (original is too much hard to find):

It takes a long time, but worth it.

Turned out nice. Love the Kakume's. What kind of numbers did you get after the service and re-assembly?

I was not certain about it...I usually have 200 more or less, beat error kept under 0.4 and between 5 and 15s/day positive.

Yes, Time Grapher numbers are what I was asking about. Congratulations again on the restoration of a beautiful Kakume.
