Seeking help with friction fit jewel repair
Some of you may have been following my threads on my 7017-6010 Speed Timer restoration. I ran into an issue I have not been able to overcome yet. The center wheel bridge hole jewel is cracked and damaged. My attempts to find a replacement bridge have been thus far unsuccessful.
I am seeking assistance from any watchmaker or hobbyist watchmaker out there with the appropriate Seitz or Horia jewel press equipment who could aid me in removing the old jewel, measuring it, and fitting a new jewel to the center wheel bridge. I contacted a pretty reputable watchmaker/restorer here in Northern VA and he basically told me he was too busy with restorations to take on my work. I am willing to pay for the service. Without this piece, my restoration cannot continue.
I am open to recommended watchmakers or PM me if interested in taking on the job. Picture attached.
