Default Orient gold case crystal

Hi,

Recently I got a old Orient watch that had a dial that had been redailed partially and it was a pretty awful job.

So I replaced the dial with a spare I had which looks quite flash. Issue is for the life of me I cannot put the retaining gold bezel/ring that holds the movement and crystal in place.
Once the movement and dial is back in the case. That outer ring just won't click back in.
After trying and trying I managed to bend it a bit.

So my questions are:

1. What's the best way to make that ring level again and then how are you mean to make these things click into the case. I can only do it while the dial and movement are in or I won't be able to put the dial in(it's bigger than the movement hole).

2. How do I find out a part number for the crystal? It is damaged and I need a new one.

Here is a picture of the watch as it was before:

Metal ring/bezel that I am talking about highlighted in red.

Thanks,

This is annoying

Take the glass out of the bezel and bend the 'up' part down on something small and check on a perfectly flat surface etc.

There must be something stopping it from clicking in place. It the new dial a little too big? You might need to file the edges of the dial if it is.

'glass' - get a generic. No one will know but you and the chances of getting an original are slim at best.

No the new dial is exact actually. It must be that I just can't get a enough leverage on the case and bezel to click in as I don't want to put my fingers onto the dial and ruin it.

I had the same issue with an old Seiko but because the movement and dial were the same size as the case hole(what's the name for that?) I could attach the bezel and crystal and then put the movement/dial in.

Check to see if theres a notch/cut out on the underside of the Gold bezel, if there is , try aligning it with the stem and then see if it will click into place. If there isnt a notch, then im of no help at all.
