Default A new to me project skx

Hi all. Im new to the forum here as a member, but many of you have helped me immensely with your posts, thank you. Ok so I bought a skx beater because I know I cant leave well enough alone, and if I got a new skx I would just end up with a full watch of spare parts. This beater I bought off eBay, I replaced the dial, hands, and chapter ring. My issue is after I press on the hands, I check for hand clearance all the way around the dial, put the movement in the case, then after a while of wearing it the minute hand is up against one of the hour marker and the movement has stopped. If I open the back and press the movement into the case, it moves in slightly and the hands clear once again. Since I got this second hand, Im not sure if I am missing a spacer between the chapter ring and dial, or between the movement and case back, or if the movement holder is not the correct thickness for this case. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!😁

Just realized that pic was a mock up before it had a movement in it

new dial has raised indices whilst old dial was painted. Perhaps you need a longer cannon pinion?

but it sounds as if you need a different spacer for the movement.

Thank you both very much! I dont think there should be a spacer between the movement and dial, because everything works correctly until it gets on my wrist. Its like the thickness of the dial with the movement holder is not enough to fill the gap between the case back and chapter ring. Is there a way to find out what movement holder should be in this case and what movement holder I currently have?

If it's a 7S26C movement then look here,

https://www.thewatchsite.com/14-user...r-manuals.html

and it does have a dial spacer.

How are the7s26 movements held within the case? Is it held in place by friction between the outer diameter of the movement holder and the inside diameter of the case, or is it held in place from the rear by the case back?

The movement drops into the case and the stem is inserted.

If like other plastic dial spacers they are designed with 3 integrally moulded springy bits which the case back partially contacts to hold the movement secure.

Thanks again Don, I think my movement ring is ether worn or smooshed because if I measured correctly, the ring is about .5 mm too small to fill the gap between the case back and the chapter ring. It also doesnt press against the sides of the case enough to hold it in place by friction alone. Looks like Ill be ordering a movement holder in the near future.
