Default Precise position bushing

If you have a main plate with an oval barrel arbor bore how do you ream it through to accept a bushing or jewel. Do you just ream away through the oval and accept that it will be very slightly out of position.

There is some advice in this thread....

https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/what-pr...ushings.84418/

I think the broaching approach is a good idea, then finish it off with the jewling reamer.

You can also use the opposite hole (on the other bridge) to centre the movement, but that will depend on how flat that bridge is. They refer to seitz to a seitz Centering Pump Pusher to Upright. I don't thinks it's standard. You can find it in this manual...

Thanks.

Jerry Kieffer described the precise method I would use had I now owned a mill ad lathe.
