Default Moto gp opener

Who caught the first race of the season last nite?
Bloody excellent start to the year. Hats off to Rossi. Pedrosa must love Honda for giving him Marquez for a 'team mate' :'( :'( )

If the next races of the season are like the first one then it will get veery interesting!! Marquez seems the future for the sport and if he avoids mistakes he will find himself in a very good place in the world championship. Of course we saw some classic stuff from Valentino.

Yep, was on the edge of my seat for the last few laps when Rossi caught up. The battle he had with Marquez was stunning racing. Great effort from Crutchlow too, considering he's not on a factory bike. Shame his teamate didn't finish his first race though. Looks like it will be a very competitive season with at least 4 riders chasing the championship. Great stuff!

Texas will be really interesting, only 4 riders have tried it and Marquez was fastest in test.

Great race......Lorenzo was flawless, he made it look so easy after getting the crucial start spot-on. But behind was a super battle. I thought Marquez and Crutchlow were very impressive, Pedrosa less so on this occasion. Early days yet though.

So pleased for Rossi too.....the Doctor is back :-)

Dovizioso was surprisingly strong for a while.....but has no race pace at all.

Roll on Texas!

Yep For a while I thought Dovi was going to give Rossi a lot of soul searching but fair play to the Rossi, he rode an unbeleivable race. I think Stoner was successful on the Ducati simply because having spent so many years having to ride any old crap he learnt to just get on with whatever he was able to scrape together.

I just watched the race on the Iplayer during lunch. I have a love/hate thing for Rossi......It's good to see him back, fingers crossed for the rest of the season.

I think we're in for some great battles this year. You couldn't take too many risks at Qatar for fear of losing it in the dust off-line, but once we get to the more normal, 'stickier', tracks I think it's going to be epic :-)

I don't know how others feel about it?, but I'm not a big fan of night races either - bikes or F1. And for the riders, it must be hard enough racing wheel to wheel at such speeds anyway, without being spooked by your own shadow when you tip it into a corner!
