The dog gods just banished that Frenchie to doggie Hell, which involves being dressed, for all eternity, in little frilly dresses by squealy little girls. )

I think the "cowardly" dog is a French Bulldog, and not a purebred at that. JMHO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Bulldog

I like those little Frenchy's. A friend had one crossed with an English bulldog. Great little dog.

That sounds like an interesting cross.

A good cross. Some of the English bulldogs are a little cumbersome due to being bred for looks rather than functionality (choosing my words very carefully Tim ) so the cross keeps both the dogs good looks but with more agility.

And I always thought EB's were bred more for functionality in the old English "sport" of bull baiting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English_Bulldog (JMHO, but I never considered the EB to be a particularly "good looking" dog, but realize the perception is in "the eyes of the beholder".)

They were. But a lot has changed in the breed. A Pitbull is closer in looks and ability to the old time Bulldogs.
