Of that group, I'd probably go for the Camry. In actuality, I don't require a "luxury" car and would go for something more basic capable of getting me from point A to point B in relative comfort with good MPG performance.

I am way past the luxo car salivation myself. However, last night I was watching "Lost in Translation", and at the hotel there is aarrivals on some unknown to me luxo black cars. I looked them up and apparently they do not exist beyond what we are already getting here. I have a hunch that they are Nissans of yesteryear. Any experts out there? Neilo????

Mitsubishi and Nissan also have their luxo jobs...

That Toyota Century reminds me a lot of my 1984 Toyota Cressida... only it's equipped much nicer.

Miss that car.

Yes, rear-wheel drive with a beautiful inline 6-cylinder under the hood. My buddy's grandfather had one of those years ago. It's a shame the Avalon is front-wheel drive.

Best wishes,
Myles

RWD, Inline 6 Just Love the Car As much Torque as Horsepower

Excellent! Glad to see Toyota is still using an inline 6 in some of their offerings. What's that mated to, a 5-speed automatic?

Best wishes,
Myles

Of course, this is not a luxo but my first Toyota experience...5 years old and the little monster has the same 270 HP V-6 engine of some Lexus, Avalon and the Mini-van. A real screamer and if you do not put the pedal to the metal, 28MPG.

Only issue was that due to my filthy habit of topping off, I once ruined the gasoline intake canister... all the lights went on and it limped back to a US Toyota dealer, back from the Mexican desert. Fortunately, the little wagon was fixed under warranty. Toyota even paid for two nights of hotel, meals and gave me a free rental. Was forgetting, the radio, a JBL went kaput once, was giving me what seemed like chinese characters on the dash. It was also changed for free...
1. Always buy an extended warranty... it is well worth it
2. Never top off...where the pump float cuts off, that is it... do not try to make it to the next dollar.
3. Treat the RAV with loving care and it will give you years of service.

My japanese luxury cars when fixed with OEM parts were labeled Honda, and Toyota. Wether they were ??? Lexus, or Acura. Maybe its just marketing hype . Other than that I know not.

Yes, parts are expensive. Trailer hitch for the RAV 4 installed $800... same thing at U-Haul $145.
