Right. So you would be one of the "few" guys on the earring forum, like women here.

Women have far too much common sense to bother with something so incredibly banal as wristwatches.

Haha, I had a feeling youd come up with something of the sort.

Sitting at your computer spouting off about springbars and beat rates is just lame. Hence, the apparent imbalance.

I really wanted to put something in here about Rachel McKinnon, but you'll have to use your imagination because mine only comes up with controversial references to Danny Trejo.

You don't see too many women on watch forums, but there are a few on a couple of my Facebook watch forums.
I think there are probably less in Seiko forums like this because we're highly orientated to used and vintage watches and my experience with my own wife is that she has no interest in a watch that doesn't come to her new and doesn't have a battery.
Sometimes we get a bit blokey and it's important to make sure everyone is welcome - excluding scammers and dickheads, of course.
That said, I was far less offended by the shoes comment than some of the responses that followed.
My wife has as many pairs of shoes as I have watches...I did try to suggest I should have a watch for every single shoe she has, but it didn't have legs.

I'm a woman and I love Watches, specially G-shock, Pilot and aviator military style watches, and Nasa related watches.
But then again I love a lot of things which are not female stereotype. I think it's better to raise your kids without telling them what is girlish or what not to do coz it's for boys.
I was raised that way, so I'm very thankful for that

Well bugger me it is Dave, I just did a google search and it does refer to past behaviour of the English towards the Irish, just goes to show how "every day" sayings can have a terrible meaning in the past, my apologies to anyone offended especially if your Irish.

No problem Dave, it just goes to show though how easy it can be to put your foot in it (I hope that doesent have a hidden meaning ).

When I was a kid if a child was behaving badly, stamping there feet, behaving like a spoilt brat etc we would say they where having a paddy.

All rather ridiculous actually. Where's it going to end? Does not require an answer

My wife rolls her eyes at my ‘obsession’, but she spotted a gold Seiko A128 LCD on my desk and somehow it’s now hers.

As a manager at a Fortune 100 company I have been trained in these matters as it relates to a workplace.

Like it or not, if you in making a joke you inadvertently offend someone, that behavior is unacceptable. Your views as to why it should not be considered offensive are outranked by the other person's legitimate reaction.

It's called being respectful of all others around you. So you are fully entitled to think they have thin skin or such, but not to repeat the behavior.

This is not a workplace but the point remains.

And I'm a simple guy from Central Europe and I think otherwise
It is impossible to speak today because of political and moral correctness, because by saying "good morning" we can offend someone ...
Life is brutal, and one should speak the truth, not pretend.
Because today "Fear" to say that you are a white, educated, heterosexual guy not to offend someone ...
