Default Game of Thrones

So its finished now, I was a late starter to the series but enjoyed binging to catch up and getting to know the characters.

I waited with excitement for the final season but did it live up to expectations ? imo not really, it seemed rushed and as though the writers had run out of ideas and just wanted to get it done and over with and the final episode was (imo) really disappointing I would almost say pretty crap

I though the final season was quite good. It was obvious from the opening episode that there were certain things that needed to happen to wrap up the story and I liked the way each episode was all about the theme of the week and not much else. I thought they were incredibly good at creating a distinct atmosphere for each episode. Some really intense tv.
The last episode was great up until a certain point - how the fuck do we get out of this mess alive? The last half hour... less so.

I loved the GOT, quite a few episodes left me with my mouth open, like the red wedding.
Last season lacked that shock value, although filmed brilliantly. There were obvious battle strategy blunders, and it basically wrapped up with a happily ever after. Not a lot of shockers, no arrow thru the eye of one of the main characters. I was left a bit dissapointed.

I was underwhelmed as well. It felt as if they just stuffed 2 or 3 seasons into one..
If you need something while you wait for your HBO subscription to cancel, then watch Chernobyl. Thats very well done

I agree, Bran the Broken (the broken) had a ‘better story’ ?
Yep, final season was very disappointing.

I’m an avid Fan John and have watched it from the Start.

Series 8 absolutely killed its credibility and such a shame.
Fans are up in arms asking for new writers to redo series 8 from Scratch but we know that’s never going to happen.

Out of them all Who was your favourite Character after you have been a slow starter?

Personally I loved the Roles of both “Arya Stark” and “Tyrion Lannister” 👍

I thought most of the main players where good.

I did like Cersei especially after she blew up the temple and gave the nun to her bodyguard for a girl friend

Gees, you’re evil John!

Ps: i caught on a season or two before you did, John, I binged to catch-up. I remember you weren’t that impressed then at the beginning, glad you enjoyed it. The story is great but the actors, some were good but also a bunch of scrubs. Kit Herrington is not a good actor, loved the character Jon Snow, but one scene that was obvious; funeral speech after killing the Night King.

Read the books way before the shows. Watched the shows. All I can say is Peter Dinklage is the biggest little guy there is.
