These Blon earphones arrived. (Neilo did it :-) )
Oppoty?
Still with the original cord and ear plug thingies. Out of the box already a great sound after a little bass adjustment on my modified Iriver player.

Thanks, it's an old Iriver H120, upgraded with an 40Gb hard drive and rockbox software. Plays anything and has analogue ánd digital optical inputs and outputs. No idea which analogue/digital converter it has on board but the sound is beautiful.
I've also got a newer H340 with 120Gb drive
Load it with music, make it play "random everything" and enjoy

sweetness. I am by far no expert but have dealt with quite a few vintage CD players and the older gear (Made in Japan) had pretty decent data converters in them - a lot of Burr Brown and Texas Instruments. Sony spun their own data converters IIRC. I'm a big fan of the older gear - it has a sound which I like. Even the early iPods had Wolfson DACs, which diehards swear by. Not sure my ears can hear that level of difference anymore but I'd like to think so.
:-). I'm sure your iRiver has quality chips in it.

Can your iRiver handle high-res files?

Jimmy was texting me last night as he has his Also and I hope he chips in at some point as he stated the sound is Phenomenal😮 I Of Course Agree But And there’s a BUT!! The right tips are imperative on these as they are with most IEMs
And they must be ran in I’ve discovered with mine (I have 2 pairs now) both ran in over a couple of days using Red Large Memory Foam T200 Tips And Seriously they compete with Full Size expensive Cans🎧 blocking out the exterior noise is Key and the Memory foam Tips warm the Bass Heighten the Mids and Tame the treble.Absolute No Brainer Superb In ears and People are Still buying Air Pods And Beats???😮
Madness!!

My Grey Version with MF Tips And my 16Core 2 Pin Yinyoo Cable Upgrade with no Over Ear Memory Cable.✅

I use My iPhone With Mine on Spotify Premium with music set at 320kbps and with either of my Portable amplifiers👍
Left Side is my “Little Bear” Tube Amplifier And To The Right my “CMoy” portable Amp/DAC

The Little Bear Tube Amp is amazing adding Tube Sound which is Warm and Analogue Sounding.5-6hrs Use From a charge.
The CMoy is Analytical and Gives huge Detail Addition But Will Show flaws in any
Low bit rate Tracks. 60hrs Play time on a 9V Battery.

Thanks, with high res you mean files like flac? Then yes
I also enjoy my Onkyo Integra DX6800 CD player, with copper plated chassis.

that's what I meant - FLAC. very nice.

I have a copper plated chassis Sony "ES" CD player from the early 90s. Weighs a ton. That's when they spared no expense.

DS Sir the Sony 300 Disc I Have is a great tool and great for storage of old CDs
With no Jewel Cases or smashed Cases.Sony Did Do a 400 CD Disc Machine And A 400 Disc DVD Machine I nearly bought but my 300 CD Disc Machine was mint with remote and had been serviced with a new Laser at the time.
Ive never had any Onkyo products or Denon but still Rate them.
90’s in the UK was good for Harmon Kardon And Arcam products as well as Sony, pioneer, and Kenwood of course.

Sony’s 400 Disc CD and DVD players.
