Default Fresh in today, Citizen Record Master Chrono

I managed to get to the post office tonight and pick up my citizen Record Master Chrono. One of recent flurry of purchases on ebay, and I have to say I'm dead chuffed with it!
I've been after one of these for quite a while now and after this one popped up on ebay I had to go for it ! Happily I got it for a bit less than I was prepared to go up to
so in my eyes, it's a bargain!
Here's a couple of shots after a quick Micromesh of the crystal and fitting a period Citizen strap I picked up a while ago which I think really suits it.

The strap is quite similar to the Seiko one button chrono and world time watches..

Good to see this one Eccles For info here's a scan from the 1971 catalog, showing the two versions of the Record Master. Although they both have the same case number - 4-570014 - the one on the left has lumed hour markers, like yours:

I recently got hold of one of the Custom versions, so it says hello :

Nice pick up on that one, I thought it went for a good price glad you picked it up. PS I like the missing lume on the hands!
Could you explain how you polished the crystal with micro mesh?
Cheers Paul 👍👍

Hi Paul,Micromesh is a very fine sort of abrasive mounted on cloth (like fine wet and dry, but on a fabric backing). I started off with the 'rough' 2400 grit and went up through 3600, 4000 and finally 6000 grit (we use up to 12,000 in work!). Then just finish off with a bit of plastic polish (like poly watch) that comes in the kit and the crystal is like new again. I use it in my day job on aircraft and have used it on many watches over the years, cleaning up some very rough crystals to like new! ;D .

This is the kit I use, the micromesh has lasted years without needing to change it.
