Default SRP 777 J1 arrives

Picked this up this morning, from my R.M. Delivery office, very nearly got a ticket too, as there is only one parking bay there ! Just managed to get back to the car before the warden started writing it out, Phew !

Loving the watch already, so comfortable to wear, and my old eyes can't see any misalignment of the chapter ring or bezel etc, It arrived with all boxes and manuals etc, so happy days. The watch was purchased by the owner. who i purchased it from when he was in the States in 2016.

You really need to try a MM to see how it wears for you as they are tall, for me wearing mine on a Crafterblue was perfect, not keen when on the bracelet, love mine but a friend of mine really dislikes his so like I say you need to try one out.

Thanks for the heads up John, may have to take a trip to London sometime soon and try one, as our Seiko dealers here, don't stock such watches. The PADI is as good as it gets.

Congratulations on your purchase, coincidence, I sold my 777 today - I like to wear a low watch and a crown hurt my hand ...

As for MM, John is right, this tall, fat watch and for everyday wear is not very comfortable.
In addition, it's quite heavy, my SLA021 weighs with the bracelet as I remember over 220 grams

If youíre thinking of going to the Seiko Boutique in Knightsbridge, you might want to go before March, as thatís when itís going to be re-branded to a Grand Seiko Boutique (I donít know exactly when in March - I guess you could contact the Boutique by email or phone to find out if you want to know). I only found this out yesterday from a line in this story about the Grand Seiko Summit in Tokyo planned for March this year being cancelled due to the coronavirus out-break: https://www.watchpro.com/breaking-ne...l-watch-event/

I assume that when the re-branding happens, they might stop carrying non-Grand Seiko Seiko models, but this is just a guess on my part, so I could be wrong, and that might be worth checking with them as well if you contact them.

Also bear in mind that the new PROSPEX MM300 (which is the only MM300 that they carry now) is 1 mm thicker than the SBDX017/SBDX001, so that might also influence what you try on.

Thank you for the info, the Seiko Boutique was the one I was thinking of yes, I will defo go before March as you suggest, it all boils down to could I live with just one watch, if I do try one on, it may help me decide.. If that is the case as you say, that they only carry one MM, it may mean a trip to Blue Water then, as i would like to try on more than one model, or it is a pointless exercise. Thank you once again.

Youíre welcome! I thought that the Knightsbridge Boutique was the only place in the U.K. carrying the SBDX017 anyway, since it was a Japanese Domestic Market model? I donít think/I assume any other Authorised Dealers would not have the SBDX017 now anyway, since itís been replaced by the PROSPEX MM300 (which is an officially-available international market model) for quite a while now. I didnít know that there was a Seiko Authorised Dealer in Bluewater, but it might be worth contacting them (and the Knightsbridge Boutique) before-hand to see what theyíve got in stock before you go. I imagine that since the MM300 is a high-end model, they wonít have many in stock.

Nice one, Vyn.

My only complaint is that the silicone strap is a dust magnet.
