Oooh, I like that Neilo! I don't know that model.

First wear for this one today. I bought this M159-5059 on eBay for lunch money with the "probably just needs a new battery" claim.
Sadly it didn't work, even with a full strip down and circuit board clean. So I bought a working M159-5029 in a beat up case with a chipped crystal which also came cheap. That one had a broken crown spring, so I had to do another full strip down.
With the case, bracelet, arrow LCD and crown assembly from the 5059 and the electronics from the 5029, I turned 2 problem watches into one nice one [emoji846]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a6b78814ae.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a033c36f48.jpg

Hey David well I can totally recommend it as the case is so flat and wide it sits on the wrist so comfortably.
Mine I’ve had for years and thought mistakingly I could change the top of the Case where my chips are with it having the Bolt like nuts but it turns out they are part of the case as is the top so cannot be changed hence why mines a Beater now even though the Crystal is unmarked and it still works flawlessly and still holding a full capacitor charge👍
There was a Couple Of models one being the 20th Anniversary But Love it.
I also have the Full Round Case Version which is huge👍

Thank You Brad Sir,They became Quite Popular as an Aqualand a good few years ago being Eco Drive And With their Famed Depth Sensor and the Unusual D Shaped Case.
I’ve always loved wearing them although mine has a few Chunks off the Metal on the Case Top Yet with no Damage to the Crystal So it did its Job.Beater Now That can take a few Knocks and scrapes.

Your M159 is Superb Brad And Just the type of Retro Seiko LCD I Love And would spend hours on that Cleaning it up to look Mint👏👏👏👍⌚️

Thanks Neilo. When you say "clean-up" what do you mean? I wiped it down with a fiberglass brush and alcohol and put the bracelet in the ultrasonic. Would you polish the case and the crystal to try to get some of the scratches out?
A couple people commented previously about cleaning up my gently used digis, and now I'm really wondering how you all like to finish your watches. Do tell, sir!

Brad I’m OCD Sir when it comes to my Watches Looking Like new like a few others I know so I would get my Full set of wet and dry sandpaper out and Do the Bracelet to get every Scratch I could Out Of it And Also Do the Case,The Crystal I’m sure is mineral so should be easy to replace if it has scratches as I’ve tried polishing scratches out of Crystals to no avail after hours and it’s cheap enough when they are not Sapphire to just replace them.
I’ve even used an orbital Sander held Stationary on some of my bracelets over the years, then after all the sanding grades are done and the brunt of the Scratch work is done I finish with a Good car Body wax by hand to polish the whole watch up.Works a treat.
I’ve also found those Green Dish washing Scourers work great as well.
Not sure what you call them over there?

Everyone’s different of course and some prefer to leave Vintage well alone which is fine obviously but I like mine as clean as I can get them.😜👍

Food for thought, thanks! I don't think I'd put that much effort into the bracelet, but I may take a shot at polishing the case. Thanks Neilo!

Stopped for a top up on the way back from my son’s rugby training and he’s playing the pretty cool maths game. All accompanied by a 007. And a poppy of course.

Today I am sporting the 6139-7002, which is unique among the 6139 family for its 0-100 marked inner timing chapter ring. I believe it's biggest benefit is when timing multiple events. It allows for recording each timed event expressed as in decimal parts of a minute, so when you go to add a long list of individually l timed events you don't have to carry over every 60 seconds (or add up all the seconds and then divide by 60 to get the inyegr minute count and then go back to subtract out the whole number of minutes to get the leftover seconds, etc. ). Good for adding and then calculating the average, too.

Here is my well preserved 6139-7002 dated July 1971 with RESIST dial / resistant case back.

Mounted on its original Panda style president bracelet.
