Another Friday morning trip to London so brought my trusty Smiths with me. I will reward it with a new crystal one day (perhaps when I stop buying other watches for a month or two)

Have two inbound from Japan which I was expecting today. However they are still sat in the delivery centre which I have walked past twice today.

I know, right?
It's better than some citizens I've seen, but it's pretty much a slide rule for unit conversions... simpler than it looks.
Now, as to how it looks -- well, it could be about twice the size if it were going for real utility. I have to use a magnifying glass to read the scales!

I will start the count-down parade of watches leading up to Nov 16th "International Pogue Day" with this one. It is not a Seiko. This is a vintage watch sold by Sears under the brand name "Tradition".
It features the venerable 28,800 bph Valjoux 7750 caliber. The case is a dead ringer for the Seiko 6139-600X "Pogue" save for the crown cut-out being larger. This one is about as good as you can find and I had the Valjoux 7750 fully serviced by my local watchmaker and it keeps COSC quality time.

I have tried all sorts of Pogue bracelets all of which naturally are exact fits since the case is all but the same, but I finally settled on a spare 6139-7002 President style because it just seems right with the extra subdials being that much more of a draw for the eye an H-Link just doesn't seem quite right.

Starting tomorrow the 6139s are coming at ya' !

Default Seiko 6119-7183

April 1971 PROOF

The blue on this watch shimmers. It is the deepest, most pure blue of any watch I own and fades to darker around the edges, which is probably due to the thick crystal.

Not sure how Seiko pulled it off.

Default WRUW SCWF On “Fishy Friday” 8th November”2019

Switched to this before heading to town after fixing the clasp last night. On my way back now and picking up my family from Harry Potter World on the way back.
