Seems a perfectly reasonable question to me, Paul may not be an expert on 6139's and not know the production dates as he does work on other watches not just Seiko's.

Mike, Nz has been here a long time, Brags his shade tree methods, This is VERY basic watch knowledge. So, A customer walks into his shop and asks how old is my watch ? Hold on I'll ask the forums.....Customer walks out of shop and searches out a Pro....http://www.watchsleuth.com/seikodatefinder/

First digit is the year (this gets a bit confusing in the event that a model was produced for more than a decade, ie 2 could mean 1972 or 1982)

Second digit:
1-9: January to September
0: October
N: November
D: December

Last four digits: number in the production run

So 0N4282 would be the 4,282nd watch of that model produced in that factory in Nov 70

As always the year is ambiguous you just have to know that 6139s were made in 1970 but not in 1980.

First date of a 6139 is Jan. 1969 with the -6010, with Feb. 1969 being the first "Pogue" -6000, and the final known date of a 6139 model being April 1979 with the -6002 and -6013.
