This Benrus DTU-2A/P was originally owned and worn by a USAF (FAC) Forward Air Controller while serving his country in Vietnam. It is dated Oct. of 1964 and pictured on a NOS Mil-Spec OD nylon single pass RAF strap dated May of 1965.

Default Black Helmet

Hey Neilo,
It's snowing today, so to protect my bald noggin' I'm wearing a helmet -- a black helmet.
Cheers!

thanks and very welcome. And the good news is these 60s Seikos are still fairly affordable. You'd be surprised what you can find for under a hundred $.

A stunner! That's a gg-w-113 then? My Hamilton from '69 that I found in a bin at a flea market is out being serviced. I bought 2 reproduction straps in black and olive drab on Amazon from Debeer, which is the only company I could find that sold a proper type II strap (not a NATO) in 18mm with the PVD coated buckle the spec defines.
How do you know to whom yours belonged? Unbroken provenance or did you find some way to reach it through the stock number? I'm curious if there's a way I can find out more of the history of mine.
