the press kits say this is a conscious decision 5o go further upmarket.
Well, Rolex, AP, et al have been doing it for years so nothing new there but.... You know how you feel when a beloved friend has lost his way and seems to keep turning in the wrong direction ?

Exactly. I've always been a Seiko fanboy but I don't think this will raise their standing in the eyes of collectors or anything. It might even do the exact opposite - after all if we're paying that much money most people would still go for the likes of JLC or PP instead. Just my opinion of course.
