Is everybody paying full retail price for new Arnie?
I decided to get the new Arnie PADI edition, and went in search of it online, only to find out everyone is asking full retail price. Some are asking more. What gives? Is this normal for a new Seiko release? Should I wait til the hype dies down? Did you guys pay full retail? I could pay less if I order from Hong Kong, but without the boxes, which Is unacceptable to me.

Kat, every AD/watchmaker is different. Mine is a local guy I’ve done business with for many years. Because of that relationship, I get “special” discounts. 30 - 35% off for me for all new releases. Mainly US releases only but sometimes he can get something that normally isn’t readily available in the States. I’m a lucky man.

Personally I'd wait. Too many times I've witnessed people having to have the latest and greatest, and 6 months later they sell for way less.
Guarantee this will be one that will as well. Part of my enjoyment with watches is finding the bargain, not being the first.

I paid $ 499 with box from a Hong Kong seller I already know and trust, but at the moment he doesn't have one.

They are Ł420 retail here in the UK, I asked the AD I usually go to for his best price. He sold me it for Ł349 with all the boxes, manuals and a 2 year guarantee. Most places here will do a price match, Just had a look there are still a few places with stock online in the UK.

I ordered from Relojesdemoda.com in Spain 14 days ago and spent $382 USD total delivered to Los Angeles w Paypal after Euro conversion. The Spanish website has an English option tab at the top. I figured it was a roll of the dice and I was covered by Paypal and my credit card if something went wrong. They have many good reviews from previous Seiko new releases on the web. Dhl tracking says it's on the truck for delivery today! Will report back tonight.
If you search for Arnie, nothing comes up but if you search for Arnold, both the black & Padi versions pop up. Update - I received it in a Seiko box enclosed in another Seiko box enclosed in a Seiko sleeve enclosed in a shipping box enclosed in a padded shipping bag. Problem solved. As I was hoping might happen, someone here didn’t quite bond with his Padi Arnie, so I shall take it off his hands........ literally! Look for pics of it dwarfing my wrist early next week..
