There are so many fakes selling for silly money on eBay. Some Seikosis dials are getting close nowadays. This one has 21 bids up to £742 with 6 days to go:

There are a couple more Panda's on the bay right now. One asking £1200, the other asking a whopping £1500. Both fakes.

Those 1200s are my favorite, white panda dial and SGP back st steel. And he even says: Case back - Stainless Steel original

I’ve never paid much attention to fake Pandas ...other than the alignment of the text below the “Seiko” logo, what are the signs of a fake dial?

There's a decent list to get started with on https://www.thewatchsite.com/21-japa...-my-panda.html

Another tell-tale of fakery is pointed As in JAPAN - the real deal should have flat-topped As.

From the style of the crown and it has the wrong movement which is easy to tell as it does not have a gold coloured rotor.

all with the now common serial number 813124

I feel quite ill.. This one makes me want to throw up.
The dial is a hideous fake, and people are bidding on it for god's sake.

I'm a novice, and that Seiko logo plate looks really bad. That's just what sticks out to me. School us on what else isn't right please, it is hard to spot some fakes.

And then they have the audacity to describe it like they do.

Most 6139-600x on eBay UK are fakes. There are several UK based sellers peddling their crap on eBay. Research before you buy. There are plenty of threads on this forum to help avoid costly mistakes.

They're NOT fakes. They're genuine but contain aftermarket parts.

Call them what you like. In a vintage watch the dial is everything. If the dial is a fake the watch has little value and is no use to a collector. Most other easily removable parts are usually aftermarket too. Many are a hotch potch mix of parts, then polished to within an inch of their lives.

All pretty nasty really.

I feel like there is always a lot "fake" bidding with these auctions. The sellers having alt accounts to bid up the price

Well more than 50% of the watch is fake, bracelet, bezel, dial, hands. Only the movement and case are genuine (in some cases the casebacks are fake too with seikosis fake casebacks).
