Default Help installing this new crystal (seiko PANDA 6138-8020)

Hello,

I am having trouble installing a new crystal on this watch, no matter which side I put the metal ring (1) the black ring (2) keep floating inside.

Is there some part missing?

Which side should I install the metal ring? A or B?

I notice that the new crystal has a step inside while the old one, which is broken, doesn't have.

The new crystal comes from ebay and it's a 350T02AN

Is there any other version out there?

Panda doesn't use crystal gasket. Or at least that's what I was told and there wasn't any gasket when I disassembled it.

I've installed the glass with the ring on the B position that I mention above. The glass is all the way down and the black ring keep floating. B position looks like to only logical position.

I notice that if I mount the movement and the movement ring the black ring play is severely reduced but still present. Maybe the black ring stay on place once the watch is fully assembled.

That looks a bit random so I'll wait for someone expertise before going on.

Dont these have a bezel that needs to be removed? How did the previous crystal come out was it smashed

B orientation looks to me to be correct. How does the tachy ring sit in the case, how securely does the spacer ring ring sit over the tachy ring...

No idea...but to me it sounds as tho your crystal is maybe incorrect

It does have a bezel. I've installed the glass and the bezel but there's still some play in the chapter ring.

The old glass is broken, way too old, not smashed. Thought it could be a wrong glass but now that I ve installed it, I think the problem is somewhere else.

The B side goes up into the inside of the crystal, it's called a tension ring. I believe there should be a notch on the bottom of the chapter ring that fits over the tab on the dial. That chapter ring will sit loose until the notch is fit over the dial tab and everything is tightened up with case back. That bezel should have a little downward friction on the taper of the crystal when it's installed. I didn't even know you could install the crystal with the bezel on.

That's the trick!! I did not saw the tab on the dial, that's what keep the chapter ring in its place.

Thanks a lot!!

pd: I did remove the bezel before installing the glass.
