Late to post today.

Today it’s my first modern Vostok. I spent at least a week pouring over countless Amphibia models trying to pare it down, and when I started the only thing I was sure of is that I didn’t want an 090-cased watch like this one. By the end...well, you can see how that worked out.

I’m pleased as punch with this watch, crappy bracelet and all.

i'd like to present a seiko with no alignment issues whatsoever.

i know it seems weird, but i meditate for one hour at a time, and all i need is the start/finish point, and i often do ten second inhales, ten second exhales,
the bezel takes care of that for me, the tens are so clearly marked. so this is intended purely as a meditation watch, but i think it'd be a real cool cocktail party watch as well

dial is hand-painted, many coats of paint on a flat black dial, intended as a tribute to a certain siamese cat's eyes....

Yeah, I’m at the beach for 9 days. I brought 5 watches. The SD always seems to make the cut. It never sees the actual waves and sand though. I leave that for my Scurfas and 011.

thanks dave,

it was a messed up old 6105 case so i carved it, or shaved it, in the old parlance....i think it's a shape that lends itself to meditation, all flowing curves...
