Help with a Grand Seiko 43999?
Happy to have stumbled upon these forums! I’ve been looking to source a Grand Seiko ref. 43999 SD dial for quite some time now. I’ve come across a watch that seems to be in fairly good condition (minus some heavy-handed attempts to open the case back and slight corrosion on the hands). My one concern is regarding the printing on the dial. The lettering itself appears to be genuine, and I can’t find any discrepancies with regard to font, position, etc. However, the “Grand Seiko” and “Diashock 35 Jewels” text isn’t quite as clean as I’ve seen in other examples. It almost looks as if in some places, the lettering was printed over itself. Is this just some sort of fading that I haven’t seen before, or do you think there’s reason for concern about a redial?
