There appears to be something going on with the First No.
looks deep and more like a B to me. ;;;Wonderful Seiko''''' a Ser No on a 50 yr old diver is worth talking about. If it is March 1968
that's Interesting As you mentioned April 68 has been the Norm.

I noticed that too but....well.. Benefit of doubt... could be that it was a 9 that's been stamped to become super duper rare (as most seiko are of course...)

Wouldn't surprise me if it's legit tho..or could have been a 0 but maybe a resist caseback more likely...again...who knows!

I noticed that yours are all Japan X John, the one in the OP is Japan G. I don’t know enough about this to know if it means anything at all or not though

I did a short study of 8000/9s ser #s some years ago just to get a feel for them, quite a few start with a "D" so i think the stamper was smuggling in Saki in the late 60s

Hi,
I ask for a clouse up picture of the serial number. Serials can start with a B..?... In that case what B may means? Thank you all. I learn alot from you!
Hope I can post the picture when received.

Has it been relumed?
Case and bezel look good.

Hi,
The seller say that he don't know, but in my opinion the dial was relumed at the same time that the crystal was replaced...
Any way I decided to not jump on it.
I keep looking for a original one.

Thank you all!!
