I don't think that is necessary? I like the thread for whatirs worth.... It's a strange question is all. But in all honesty my Richy Sisyphean story has an air of truth about it. I heard when diving you dont want things that twinkle when the light catches them so... no idea where I read that mind you..

Well, many are framed...like tunas and so on...but metal frames....well yes after the 6105 it seems that the line of seiko divers did away with it.. more than likely simply to cut costs.

There's a lot of truth to that. A while back I remember reading about a woman cleaning barnacles with a chrome scraper was attacked by a barracuda and nearly lost her arm just below the elbow. They surmised it went after the shiny scraper.

To cut cost that make more sense but still at least seiko should framed them on watches cost over $1k.

Ok. If you look at the lume dot edging, minute and hour hands are shiny and blink on the sumo. How is that explaining your snake and shark argument?

Default Diver watch doesn’t have metal frame around DATE window

The only reason I can think of is that it hard to read the date under water when a shiny metal is all around the window due to its reflection.

well, so, I'm confused. If you're using a diver computer how long of an extension cord do you need? And I assume there is risk of electrocution, right?

Seems like you're better off with a dive watch that has a shiny little frame around the date.
