RE: the 5 badged replacement to the SKX - are they still ISO rated divers or will they be down graded to "sport" watches?

I’m not sure on the 6105, might be all the pics, but it looks very shiny, a few say looks like all AM parts, I’m inclined to agree.
But I know photos can be subjective, so will reserve judgement!
Would like to see one in the wild on a chaps arm to get full idea.
What’s your honest opinion Johnny, as you have seen it very close up?

I am keen to see what Seiko will release next. Somehow, I feel nostalgic about the 70's and 80's models, the likes of which may never be repeated. The latest movements are bigger (thicker) for a start. Seiko are trying hard to elevate the new models pricewise which is market limiting as well.

Thanks for the photos Tiger.

The reissues have been going on for some time, even spawned the recraft series. I wish Seiko would surprise every one with something that's not a 6105/6309/6217/6159 reimagined/reissued/recrafted. Maybe a carbon fiber diver (not that I could afford one) with an 8-day movement oh wait Panerai already did that

Here is the new SEIKO 5 logo which will be found on the SKX replacement, which apparently will be launching in May - it's been found on a trademark filing database, and has been filed in many countries around the world:

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv2rLtenO74/

They’re making it looks like a cross between an “S” and a ”5”, so I can see what you mean about it being almost horizontal.

The SKX replacement will use the same case, but will have a display case-back, and will be rated to 10 bar/100 m water resistance. It seems to be more of a 7002 successor, as I'm hearing that it will be date-only rather than day-date, and will use a 4R35 movement. SEIKO have already released 3 Limited Edition watches based on this platform in Japan at the end of last year:

The 2 wena wrist pro models, 1 silver, 1 PVD black (wena wrist pro is the name of the smart band from SONY that the SEIKO watch comes with). Note the display case-back. It's only rated to 5 bar water resistance because that's what the smart band can take, but the watch head can take 10 bar of water resistance: https://kakakumag.com/pc-smartphone/?id=12902

Subaru 360 Limited Edition driver's watch, which has a bezel from the SARB061 (which also uses the SKX case), but with blue text instead of white. Has 20 bar/200 m water resistance, due to having a solid rather than display case-back: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bri8J29nDdC/
