Default Where did TigerUK go? Abducted by aliens? Stuck in Swiss Customs?

Haven't heard from John since the 23rd. Here's hoping he managed to get into BaselWorld safe and sound. Hopefully he is enjoying himself and just not near a computer, or even a smartphone.

Or maybe stuck in Swiss Customs? This is an unreal story out of Baselworld. Seems some overzealous Customs officials are having a field day raking in money from foreigners.

Sure hope John declared that 6105........

C'mon Tiger you have a legion of SCWF WIS's eagerly anticipating your full report !

Maybe he's stuck in exhibit hall A? Rooted to the spot (in horror) by the sight of the 6105 reissue?

That's insane, it's things like this that can kill an otherwise special yearly event. Who would want to go through that again? How many others had a similar experience and are not returning next year? I guarantee they lose more in revenue than they gain in VAT. Maybe that's why it was not so busy this year, those that had a bad experience previously simply did not return for another battering from customs.

Wherever he is, I'm sure he'll be pleased we got at least 3 uses from this awesome photo...

And I'm shocked - I thought that was a 5,000 CHF paint job...

It was probably a good year to go this year I’d imagine? Keep reading it was dead etc but I bet that allowed the people that were there better access to the watches?

Never having been before I can't comment on whether it was "dead" or not but I saw people arriving at the airport from all over going to Baselworld and there was coach after coach full of visitors arriving at the halls and there did seem a lot of people from all over the world at the show.

We where very fortunate that we had a private meeting with Seiko arranged by Baris where we got to see and touch the new models.

Glad you had a great time, can't wait to hear more.

If you read the article I linked in the first post, did you hear of anyone else getting pinched by the Swiss Authorities? I was a bit worried for you and Baris.
