Default For Steve: 6105 Relume And Restore

Just thought I'd share this as was quite proud of how it turned out. Let me know if you agree, or just be pleased I'm not venting about reissues....

Before-shot shows some blackening and poor hand condition. Cleaned up well, really, but I wanted to get rid of the poor wear around the centre hole from hand removal in the past so tackled that.

Tried my best to match the original lume tone but also wanted it to look a little fresher. The seconds hand I always attempt to mimic the original "red dot".

Glowing pretty nicely.

Nice work Guy and I certainly like the faded salmon colored lume of the sweep seconds hand..................... vs. the reissue.

Nice work Guy!

Are you going to let us in on the dial clean up procedure or is it top Secret?

I’m going to comment on the stop light hand too. It’s spot on. Well done, the dial looks terrific. Could you post a movie of how you do this???

Fabulous! What an art to be able to restore a dial to look like that.

And I don't mind you venting about re-issues. Some interesting points in discussions like that - ones I don't always consider.

What bit do you mean? If you mean the slightly powdery base of the relume pic that was always there. There is one tell tho which I'm about to clean up....and that's the date window....
