Why does Seiko refuse to make correct indices on their modern remakes?

I shall take mine on Sunday and see if I can get a shot with them both together.

It is very nice Denis. I'll have one, even though they still appear to be plagued by alignment issues

Think it’s USD 4500.

It looks soo aftermarket! The 200m text looks like a decal. Case looks too shiny. Maybe it's just the pic.

How anyone can look at that and think "yup, 4500 USD worth right there", is beyond me.

Two whole photo galleries of pretty nice and clear photos for the most part, of SEIKO's new watches at Baselworld 2019, including the new Arnies: https://kronometer.hu/2019/03/20/rov...s-grand-seiko/

Found on reddit's r/Watches.

I put this in the same category as re-issue cars, for the money I'd much rather have the original.

Ah c'mon guys......just use the $650 you were going to spend on the Blue Alpinist towards this limited edition and then sell your soon to be discontinued Sumos for ridiculous amounts and you're a quarter way there!

In the Basel photos Seiko displays a 6105-811X proudly labeled 1970... with a modern curved vent strap.

I like the Seiko Iceberg display. Would look great with the DVDP... on a proper vintage strap

I think Seiko needs to hire Anthony as a Highly Paid Consultant (with free all expenses paid trips to Basel) to assist with historical details and strap choices.

Thanks for posting!

I’m going to have to have a “New Arnie.” Actually kinda like the Pepsi bezel.

And I may just have to sell a kidney for one of those titanium spring drive Marine Master style divers. That thing is sweet!!!

man, the car analogy is perfect...i would so much rather drive
a '68 camaro than the bloated remake, this goes for mustangs
and barracudas and challengers, etc....for my money if i had a
fun car i'd go for a used toyota mr2, those are close in spirit to
the old seikos, these bloated 5 series just sort-of LOOK like the
originals

My theory is Seiko MD asked new boy to get on eBay and buy the best 6105 he could find to get every important detail of the markers and sweep right...

This old quote always comes to mind

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.”

Why doesn't Seiko come out with a Watch that is Original and Different than anything they have ever produced.....Like they did when they produced watches in there beginning ? Self flattery ??? Or just lack of imagination.
