Default A Padi on Paddys day

Ive never owned a brand new watch before, and as one of the recipients of the fundraiser this year i decided to buy a brand new watch, something i could wear and something thats befitting of the very generous people that make SCWF so great to be a part of.

Unfortunately i am hopeless with pics, but ill do my best. As we all know the master of unveiling is Thomas, and i have no chance of competing with the master

This watch arrived last week but i decided as its Paddys day, today would be good to unveil it.

So it arrived in a Brown box.

Inside is a white box.

Inside the White box is another Brown box

If the box wasn't marked with Seiko i would almost think its a Poljot in a Babushka box (if theres such a thing)

Ahha, the prize.

I have contacted the company from which i made the purchase, and mentioned i was a little disappointed with the Seiko cardboard box, and would like a nice presentation cardboard box.
Im waiting to hear back.

Thankyou to all of you, and i wear this on behalf of the SCWF.

Great choice for a brand new Seiko. You are right about the box...What’s up with that? Congrats, and wear it in good health!

Congrats on the best PADI. Ironically I bought a Seiko over a year ago that wasn't a PADI, but it did come in the nice PADI box. Sits in a drawer taking up space like all other boxes your can't wear.

Years ago I bought a Seiko in Macy's. The lady grabbed the watch from a display case and rummaged in a cabinet full of empty boxes and grabbed any box that happened to say Seiko on it.

I got my PADI used and it came with this box that is all stickered up so at least through one sales channel you get the sort of box you were looking for:

Thank-you for all the kind comments everybody.
I phoned the vendor yesterday and told them i wasnt impressed with the box. They asked me to email them pics of the box, which i did.

Heres the reply.
"Thank you for sending over those images, you have received the incorrect box. I have found out the box you should have so I will arrange for this to be sent out to you. If you could send us back the box you have that would be great".

I feel a bit silly hassling over a box, while i know i cant wear the box, it would be nice to have a decent box to keep the watch, spare links and tags in when im not wearing it, the watch that is, not the box.

This's a different model, but my point is that I really like all PADI's.
Great watches (if you forget the annoying "X").

Congratulations on a fine looking watch! I'm waiting on my first Seiko to arrive myself.

What does the PADI stand for?

Sure enough they just packed it up without thought I suppose.

Glad you are getting part of the full package.

I love the PADI SRPA21 myself !

We do have our friend Google for these things, but let me steer you to the Seiko page:

There's even a link to the PADI organization embedded in this Seiko layout. Enjoy.
