Default Advise, fake or not ?

I have been collecting some Seiko now for some years.
This watch is out for sale now and my concern is that I think its fake, I need some more input.
As I recall the movement 5M42 is only date and if there is day and date it should be the movement 5M43.

This is a 5M42-0E39 but with date and day, thats my concern.
I asked the seller for more pictures also on the movement but he didnt want to open as he have no new gaskets h, he replied.

I try to send some pictures also, I hope it works.

Regards
/Robert

It looks like an older Seiko Arctura skh293. It should only have a date window and the back is all wrong. Compare to this one. I say all fake. Which would be the 1st fake kinetic I've seen but not surprised. s-l400_1552656318372.jpg

I agree, the back looks too low quality, plus the fact it doesn't have either the movement/case code on the back or a serial number.

As you say the 5M42 should be date only I think. Too many question marks in my opinion.

100% fake.
The movement should be a 5m43 for day and date.
Several years back, this was a fairly popular counterfeit.

Too funny. Yeah, that's not a watch Seiko made. It seems someone went to great lengths to emulate a watch that's not really in great demand.

I finally got in contact with seller and he opened up the case.
There was no 5M42 inside, it was a Miyoltas 7 jewels instead so conclusion is that it is fake.

The seller did the right action and withdraw the watch from auction, regards to him.

Problem solved :-)

Pretty good fake, they even misaligned it.

The lower the value the less people check when they find them on fleabay or market stalls I guess. Everybody suspects a cheap rolex but not a cheap timex.
