Interesting hands. Is it a UK magazine ad?

And again you can NEVER be 100% sure with anything vintage Seiko

edit: Non flared bracelet (early) no proof/resist on dial, I can't see the notch, interesting, such a shame digital cameras and computers where not invented in the early 60s

I don't think we'll ever know every variation of the 6139.

Well, I've come to learn that just because it's in an original Seiko Ad doesn't necessarily mean it's accurate.

This catalog photo will throw you a curve ball.................

Not only that but we're shown a notched case and a later non-marked resistant dial from roughly mid 72'

I agree. I don't think this gal is his wife either.

What the... Good think they included a tiny watch in the center of the photo, or I would have been thinking I bought the wrong magazine.

I don't know about you guys but to me the infamous "polished middle bits" bracelet is present and accounted for ! Not that this means it ever was really a Seiko factory option, that's too much of a stretch.

Jus' sayin'

On Tom’s, isn’t the coke bezel also odd on a yellow variant, or is that just the picture? I have a 3032 Speedtimer from ‘72 with coke bezel but without the marking under 60.

I saw that ad on the vintageseiko insta feed. My first thought was "What would Tom say?"

Ok i know this will sound stupid to everybody else, but i gotta ask. For months (since i joined here) i kept reading notched, non-notched case for the 6139. What the heck are they?

It's the crown cutout that's visible from the top. Only early cases had it (at least according to the lore).

Thank you! I’ve always thought it was the cut out where the end piece go, but it didn’t make sense because there are no differences on the end pieces being sold.

You can see the notch below where the crown would be on my unrestored blue dial in the top pic and just to the right in the second one. I hope this helps!
