Default The best days are...

Two watches back from Tom days! Typically awesome work and great at putting up with my dumb questions and requests

The 6309-7040 I've owned since 2002 and was originally restored/serviced by Randall Benson. It was running a bit wonky and the rotor was noisy and it had a really low power reserve. Tom got it running great and replaced the crystal with a flat sapphire from Crystaltimes.

The 7290 was a $35 thrift store find with aftermarket (sigh) dial and chapter ring and those awful gold hands. Since I couldn't find an original dial I decided to just have some fun with it. I ordered a domed sapphire and the black coin edge from Crystaltimes and hands from Jake and the gunmetal grey racer insert from OSC. I wanted something sort of retro and fun and IMO it worked!

Thanks again to Tom

Nice, longshot. Looks like a very nice 6309 and suits the tyre tread strap pretty well.

Nice work by Tom as usual and I agree the 6309 looks very nice.

You're welcome as always Lanny.

The 6309-6040 crystal really made a difference.

The 6309-7290 bezel insert was a bit tricky. It wasn't a friction fit so one of those 3m bezel adhesive rings had to be used. They are tricky to work with themselves. You have one chance to line it up correctly. There's no such thing as re-positioning the insert after the adhesive strip is applied.
