I think that is a fine looking example of a Type II and John is spot on with regards the current prices, like he says it only takes one with more money than sense!
I've only got one example with an Arabic dial myself - similar era but ROW instead of JDM so an SQ instead of a type II and fitted with a 7545 movement.

Yes, I could not resist the purchase. Another unusual Seiko found in the UK and from what I gather, a JDM only model. I will pop the movement out today and take a look. I have started a topic over on Tinkering so will add a pic there.

Would you believe 2 then? lol. It looked familiar once I saw the dial in hand. I dug around my parts bin and found a 2nd one. The dial was damaged at 2 o'clock so I never worked on it, just stole the movement for another.

The dial on the new one is absolutely amazing. I did a quick crystal polish and cleaned up the case for now.

Now 'all' you have to do is source the correct bracelet for it.

Got this for a very good price. It has the wrong caseback (a 7009), but still a good start for a rebuild.

Quite liked this old lot for some bits n pieces. Looks almost like water damaged old stock or maybe customer returns from water ingress back when new. £80 delivered for the lot, gotta be worth that hasn’t it?

Best bits for me, the case backs.

Great looking dial. It looks like you'll save it just in time, that lume hasn't drooped and ruined it yet.

I know, and I love them like that. I've had many smart versions of this watch and so...well...for as long as any stay with me, this will likely be the more enjoyable one.
Another pic shows the lume as being nicely tanned aswell.

Yeah, the markers look great, I was referring to the hour hand lume, it's a shame when it droops and lumes a circle around the dial. This one hasn't dropped any on the dial yet.

Yup but only a little, at least I'll check and see if it is an issue which I doubt. I'll be drying the hands and case and that should hopefully sort it. Hopefully.

Craig I'll just keep it as is. Get it ticking and that is that for this one. Just aslong as the movement is sorted and the case and crystal install are all clean with fresh gaskets.

Beautiful Seahorse case and case back. A very nice lot of parts - should result in some sweet watches. congrats! nice snag.

A low-key Sunday morning, but two Seiko conquests.

While I was waiting for the inevitable extended bid battle for one of my favorite watches, I noticed this intriguing Seiko 5, with an "ice cream cone" dial, and raised polished numerals - almost identically like those 7002-8000 watches I found.

It was US$34 including tax, so how could I say "No"?

.

Then it was time for "the main attraction". I'll admit, I have an obsession with these Seiko 6602-9982 Sportsman watches with the "6105-style" hands.

Along with the very well-matching hour markers and otherwise simple, clean dial, I just love how these look and I have several black-dialed examples (not all in the best condition) but until today, only one other "nice" silver one.

What do you think? Well done, Thomas?
