Default opinions needed... definitive bezel insert chart

*If you would like to add an insert to the chart, follow this link http://goo.gl/forms/6A05SNGsBE
If you would like to view the resulting spreadsheet, follow this link http://goo.gl/V6gHQr Thank you to all contributors*

It seems like it is a fairly regular occurrence to see bezel insert size posts. A while back, someone put together a chart a posted it. Many other insert sizes came in the form of replies, but it was never an organized project.

This is where I can help, if there is enough interest. I use Google Forms quite regularly. If I put together a Form, people can submit the information and it will automatically be added to a spreadsheet that I can share the link to view. Ideally I see this as a stickied post that contains two links, one to submit insert dimensions, and one to view the resulting spreadsheet. This part obviously isn't up to me, but if the interest level is high enough I'll try to get this all put together. Please share your thoughts and feel free to contribute ideas as well.

Right now I'm thinking the resulting spreadsheet would be divided into pages based on brand and within that it would list model, nickname (if applicable), inner diameter, outer diameter, and an optional comment section. This would eliminate the problem of a shared spreadsheet that can be messed with, because the resulting spreadsheet would be view only.

I was just thinking inserts, as those are what typically get swapped or need replaced. It'd be a cross-brand reference chart. If there is success with that I may consider another for bezels, though I don't think it'd gain much popularity. While I don't think there'd be a lot of contributions, it'd be really cool to find out there are other bezels that fit our watches. Even though they are closely related, I think we'd end up with very scattered results on a combined page.

As for pictures, as far as I know, there is no way for people to add them to the form for submission, other than a link.

What Tiger said.....I think it's a great idea . I have non-Japanese divers that also need bezel inserts and I can measure them , but your chart would be a great help .

Here they are. If the mods see fit, I think a sticky would be ideal, at least until the list has an opportunity to grow. Once it has grown, it could then be moved to a reference archive.

Here is the link to the form for submitting bezel insert measurements
http://goo.gl/forms/6A05SNGsBE

And here is the link to the response spreadsheet. This is view-only and I am the only editor. If you find a mistake please contact me through PM. I will occasionally check in to alphabetize the list by brand name.

Please feel free to share this with other forums as well. More contributors means more information.

Now a "sticky" looks good.

That was me! Here's a link to it if you want to add the details into yours...

Great idea to use google forms, a collaborative approach means no one has to curate the list, that's where the original project fell down...

That was the idea. It's a lot of work to organize the info if one person is doing it, even if others are contributing the info. You were trying to act as the middle man for everyone. I was inspired by your list, but opted to let Google be the middle man.
